Our private pottery events offer a hands-on, memorable experience that’s perfect for birthdays, team-building, or just spending time together doing something new and inspiring.
Private sessions — $270 for two people, plus $90 per additional person. A minimum charge of $270 applies.
Choose between our two locations based on your activity:
During open hours, your chosen location remains open to the public. Private sessions booked outside open hours also have no closing fee.
Private event — $250 closing fee plus $90 per person. Available at both locations: wheel throwing at the Studio or handbuilding at the Shop. Reserve the entire location during open hours, for groups wanting exclusive use of the space. You’re welcome to bring light refreshments, catering, or cake to enjoy
during your session.
Kids’ parties — available only at the Shop, with the closing fee included. Choose between bisque painting or handbuilding and enjoy exclusive use of the Shop for your celebration. Packages include up to 10 children, with additional children welcome at the listed per-person fee.
Try shaping clay on a spinning pottery wheel! With hands-on guidance from an instructor, you’ll learn to center the clay, open it, and pull up the walls to create forms such as bowls or cups.

Ages 15+
A 2-hour guided session with a Potters Union instructor, clay, tools, and firing of two pieces per person. Additional pieces may be fired for a small fee.
Create pottery without a wheel using your hands and simple tools. In this project-based session, your instructor will guide you step by step through shaping and decorating a specific piece using techniques such as pinching, coiling, or slab building.

Ages 15+
A 2-hour guided session with a Potters Union instructor, clay, tools, and firing of a project piece. Additional pieces may be fired for a small fee.
A colorful way to celebrate! Each child will choose a ready-made pottery piece priced at $25 and decorate it with their own colors, patterns, and designs.

Parties last 1.5–2 hours and are recommended for ages 6 and up. Each child receives one pottery piece priced at $25, with all painting materials, glazing, firing, and the Shop closing fee included. Parents are welcome to bring refreshments, food, cake, and decorations.
A hands-on celebration where kids turn a lump of clay into something of their own! Choose a project such as a pinch-pot animal, a textured bowl, or a clay creature. An instructor will guide them step by step through shaping and decorating their creations—no pottery wheel or experience needed.
$500 for up to 10 kids
$45 per additional child
Handbuilding parties last 1.5–2 hours and are recommended for ages 6 and up. Each child will create and decorate a project with guidance from an instructor. All clay, tools, decorating materials, glazing, firing, and the Shop closing fee are included. Parents are welcome to bring refreshments, food, cake, and decorations.
Two adults must stay with the children for the entire party. This is not a drop-off event.
Supervising adults attend free. Adults making their own pottery pay $30 for bisque painting or $45 for handbuilding.
Food, drinks, cake, and decorations are welcome.
