Workshops

Workshops

Our workshops are one time pottery experiences designed to let you try something new, get creative, or dive deeper into a specific technique without committing to a full class. From beginner friendly workshops to specialty sessions with local and visiting artists, there’s always something new to explore at Potters Union.

FAQs

What is included?
3-Hour instructional workshop. Clay and all necessary tools. Instructor-glazing. Firing of 2 finished pieces. Cozy, home-like studio environment with a lounge area. Complimentary Coffee, Tea & Snacks
How do I book a workshop?
You can do it directly on our website: www.pottersunion.com.
Can I come back to glaze my piece?
Yes! If you selected our self-glaze option, you can return during open studio hours to glaze your piece once it has been bisque fired. Please wait until you receive confirmation that your piece is ready to glaze before coming in. Participants have 10 days after being notified that their pieces have been bisque fired to return and glaze them. If you do not select the self-glaze option, your pieces will be instructor-glazed, and you’ll be able to choose from our studio glaze options.
How long does it take for my pottery to be fired and ready?
The drying and firing process typically take 4–5 weeks. We will send you a notification when your pieces are ready for pickup. We kindly ask that you pick up your pottery as soon as you can once notified. There is no need to call or email ahead, just swing by during open hours. Due to limited storage space, pieces not picked up within 14 days of being notified will be considered abandoned and may be discarded or donated. If a friend took the class with you, you are welcome to pick up their work too.
What is the cancellation policy for workshops?
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance for a credit to use towards another offering or merchandise. No monetary refunds are provided for missed workshops. The credit does not expire.
What is your inclement weather policy?
Potters Union may close the studio at owners’ discretion due to inclement weather based on Federal, State and Local Government guidance. We only close the studio if we think that conditions are unsafe for members, students and instructors to travel to the studio. Any classes or workshops scheduled on days when the studio is closed because of inclement weather will be rescheduled for a future date. We will announce all inclement weather closings on our Instagram and by email to the email address on file.
