Emma is new to the pottery community, but has been creating art since the day they could hold a pencil. After graduating from RIT in 2020 with a BFA in Graphic Design, Emma moved back to the DMV area looking for a new hobby that would get them out of the house. In January 2026, they started taking classes at Potters Union and fell in love with the messy, yet rewarding, world of pottery.
Right now, they're honing their skills on the potter's wheel by creating functional pottery - which is mostly bowls and mugs! Outside of the studio, Emma likes to keep their hands busy. You'll probably find them with one of their many crochet projects, whipping up some cookies, playing a video game, or petting a nearby dog.
