Description:
Throughout the 9-week intermediate/advanced wheel throwing course, the instructor(s) will provide demonstrations, individual guidance, and feedback tailored to each student's skill level and goals. Students will explore advanced techniques of wheel throwing and will be encouraged to push their creative boundaries and develop their unique style of throwing. The course includes all materials (clay, tools, glazes, and firings). This course is not for beginners. It is designed to be an intermediate to advanced course that challenges throwers in their practice. It is expected that students can comfortably center 2 pounds of clay and throw a small straight cylinder to begin this course.
Guided by Scott’s 40+ years of experience creating functional pottery, students learn to thoughtfully consider a piece’s purpose while balancing beauty, comfort, and usability. Step-by-step instruction and personalized feedback create a supportive environment where beginners can build confidence, craftsmanship, and a meaningful connection to clay.
