Description:
The Luncheon Set: A Two-Day Wheel Throwing Workshop
Join us for a two-day workshop focused on creating a personalized luncheon place setting designed around how you enjoy eating and serving food.
Over two four-hour sessions, participants will work through the process of throwing and trimming functional pottery, from freshly thrown clay to leather-hard pieces. The workshop will explore the relationship between form and function, with an emphasis on creating pieces that feel intentional and work together as a set.
Each participant will have the opportunity to design their own place setting based on their personal preferences. Whether you envision a generous luncheon plate with a shallow bowl, a smaller plate paired with a deeper bowl, or a favorite cup to complete your setting, the possibilities will be explored together at the beginning of the workshop.
Through demonstrations and hands-on instruction, participants will refine their throwing and trimming techniques while considering proportion, balance, and the practical details that make handmade pottery enjoyable to use every day.
